Wrens Abruzzi Rye Seed Use Map

Abruzzi Rye is a fast-growing, versatile and low maintenance seed. It is commonly used as a winter cover crop throughout the Southeastern United States. Abruzzi Rye is cold tolerant and produces more forage than wheat and oats. This small grain is also very palatable and nutritious, making it popular with grazing animals. After grazing, it grows back fast and strong. In addition to its grazing characteristics, Abruzzi Rye controls erosion, suppresses weeds, adds organic matter and improves overall soil structure, releasing phosphorus and potassium to enrich the soil.
